Most weeks, SF Weekly asks me to develope a comedic take on a current San Francisco event and put it in list form for their print edition.

Small scale local news is the heart of the profession: without its continuous refreshment, the body politics withers and dies. Still, there's only so much small-town local news one can write before going a little crazy. Much of my early work at Messenger-Post Newspapers involved that kind of reporting, and so I eventually began producing occasional parody newspapers to get the whimsy out of my system at work. Never intended for publication, and shared with an internal audience only, the Woeful-Chalmers Post reports on news in the fictional village of Woeful, the fictional town of Chalmers, and Dweeble County, which contains them both.

I've written numerous book and theatre reviews for publications ranging from Playboy.com to the J Weekly of Northern California. A few are included below.
